What do you believe is the major problem being dealt with throughout the book? Is it just about Kit and her life or does the problem effect other people in the story too?

  1. A major problem in the book might be that Kit is so much different than everyone else. Kit is much braver and willing to try new things, like visiting Hannah Tupper, and keeping Prudence's hornbook at Hannah's house. Also, I think this problem effects everybody but it seems like to Kit that nothing is wrong.

  2. I think a big problem is that Kit is friends with Hannah Tupper. This also effects other people like Kits family because they may get in trouble. It is mostly about Kit but maybe a little bit about other people.

  3. I think the major problem throughout the book for everyone is dealing with who you are. Your life could dramatically change if you were to switch religions back in those days. Kit effects people's lives in the story because she is new to the Puritan religion. She was originally a royalist.

  4. I think that its a problem that kit has a brave body, like visiting hannah tupper, letting kids play imaginary games, and letteing prudence do things she not supposed too.

  5. I think the major problem is John Holbrook, Judith, and Mercy. Scince John comes over to their house all the time, the issue is getting bigger and bigger. But Mercy is not going to interfier with Judith because maybe she thinks John likes judith.
The problem is not just involving Mercy, John, and Judith, But Kit as well. Kit wishes she didn't see Mercy looking at John because if it deosnt happen, Mercy's sadness will swallow Kit whole.

  6. I think the major problem in the story is the woods and the people of wethersfield not understading kits way of life, and kit not understanding the woods and the people of wethersfield way of life. The problem effects everybody in the story including the towns people becuase eeverybody can't change to somthing new.

  7. The big problem is that the Puritains don't get Kit. Kit doesn't understand them either. The Puritains aren't very welcoming to people who are different. Because of that, Kit and Hannah Tupper don't fit in and get in trouble. That is why Hannah lives in the meadow.

  8. I think the major problem is how kit goes to visit hannah and nobody knows except rachel. It is a big problem because everyone thinks hannah tupper is a witch and Aunt Rachel thinks the rumor is going to spread and everyone will think that kit might become a witch.

  9. A major promblem in the book is that Kit is really different than everybody else. She is now going to try knew things. And that she is friends with hannah tupper. Because everyone thinks she is a witch!!

  10. I think a big problem in the book is that Kit is friends with Hannah Tupper. I agree with Rachel. Kits family could get into a lot of trouble because she is friends with Hannah. I think that if Matthew found out that Kit has been seeing Hannah, he would get very angry with the entire family.

  11. I think the major promblem in this book is that Kit is friends with Hannah Tupper. I kind of agree with Rachel because I also think that Kit might end up geting ni trouble because evryone is scared of Hannah. I don't think really think it really efects any other peoples lifes so far.

  12. I think a big problem is that she is not puritan and she is different from other people, she does not like to work. Which you have to do a lot of there. And Hannah Tupper is part of that big problem no one really likes her. Some believe shes a witch!!!

  13. I think the main problem is Kit being different from everyone. People like to laugh or snicker at her and the things she does. Kit's differentness can effect other people like when Mercy almost got fired because Kit wanted to act out the play, and in her mind it wasn't wrong.

  14. The problem is that Kit is a new person in town.Ever one is just not happy that she came in a hurry and is trying to make a life so fast. But some people thank that she is not all that bad like people say because she help them.

  15. Like Lexi I think a major problem in the book is that Kit is different from everyone else. It is also risky that Kit tries being friends with Hannah Tupper. It seems the way Kit is affects others.

  16. I think Mercy and Judith liking John is a mayor problem. It effects other people to.

  17. I think the major problem is just that Kit does not know how things are done in weathers feild.
she does not know how to do the chores like everyone else does. She takes chances like visiting Hannah Tupper even though she knows that she is a witch.

  18. I believe that the big problem is that Kit is stuck in the middle of many smaller problems(kit and hannah being friends, mercy and judith, etc.). I think that these problems include other people as well as Kit.

  19. I think the major problem throughout the book is that Kit is shaking up Wethersfield's normalness, changing everyone. I think it is both because Kit is changing everyone.

  20. The mager problom is that Kit does not fit in.
And the problom efecks the people becuse she
doing stuff that is not allowed, can mess up
    the town.

  21. i think the major problem in the book is kit visiting her best friend, hannah tupper.i think right now its effecting the wood family after nat appeared with her and she had to tell the truth about what she was doing and i think the news will travel and the wood family will look bad

  22. Well the proplem that this story has is about Kit and it does effect other people the proplem is how Kit is still adjusting to her new life in wethersfield the way she handles her chors is a proplem because she doesnt do he chors well and that gives people more work she can make the wrong decisions that make a big disaster like at the dame school so more stress that Kit causes leaves big proplems in the story

  23. I think the big problem is that Kit is having a hard to time fitting in. This effects her family because this might get her in trouble

  24. I think that a major problem throughout the book is being different. Kit, Mercy, Hannah and Prudence are all having to deal with not being like every one else. Other people in the story are dealing with this problem also, it is just might not be as visible.

  25. I think the major problem throughout the book for everyone is dealing with who you are. Your life could dramatically change if you were to switch religions back in those days. Kit effects people's lives in the story because she is new to the Puritan religion. She was originally a royalist.

  26. The major problem is the relationship between kit and hannah. If kit is caught hanging around hannah, she'll be in huge trouble. This will effect more than one person.

  27. I think that the big problem is kits new life in wethersfield because she had to go from a lazy rich girl to a hard working mid wealth girl. I think most definately that kits problem is making life just a little more difficult for the people of wethersfield. First of all the way she had dressed made it hard for the people to focuse on the pulpit which indeed got them in trouble. second she us not working material making JUdith have to help her then inforcing that she does not do her work making the crops take longer to gather, and last Kit does not know that everything needs to be simple and interpreting fun is prohibited then making her and the other kids in trouble.

  28. The major problem in the story is that Kit needs to get used to the Patriot world, and try to keep the secret that Mercy likes John Holbrook. The problem effects other people in the story too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the big problem is prejudiced. People are prejudiced against Hannah because she is a quaker. They are prejudiced against Kit because she is different. The people need to open up, because they don't have reasons to be so prejudiced.

  30. I think the major problem in the book is that Kit is so different and that Kit is having a hard time adjusting to her new life. I think that Kit's problem does not only affect her but also people around her. I think this because all of the Wood Family had to adjust to having Kit live with them. They had to help Kit learn the ways of the Puritans and they had to live with a girl they barely knew and Kit barely knew them.

  31. i think that the main problem in the story is that kit dose not fit in this leads to more seriuios problems.
like mattew wood getting angry with her about the dress thing.

  32. I think the big problem of the story is that kit is much different than the others that live in Wethersfeild. Her differentness causes trouble. I think that when Kit causes trouble id does affect her but it also affects other people. For exaple, the Dame school incident for her trying something different caused her and Mercy to get in trouble even though Kit was the one that caused it.

  33. I think that since the very first day Kit set foot into Wethersfield she wasn't very appreciated of her actions and clothes. Beacause of her wealthy family some people disagree with her. She is also getting used to the Purtian religion and is having difficulties in getting used to her new life. After the incident that happened on the dolphin people believe that she is accused of witchcraft. I also think that her uncle Matthew doen't know ast how much Kit has been through in the past. But some people believe that Kit is a good person... such as Hannah Tupper, Mercy Wood, And Aunt Rachel Wood. This is what I think of the major problems in the story.

  34. I think the majore problem is that Kit has moved to Wethersfield and is having a tuff time fiting in. Yes I think this is effecting other people. Some of these people are Mercy, Aunt Rachel, the Schools, Uncle Mathew and more!

  35. One major problem in this chapter is that Mercy and Judith both like John Holbrook. This problem might effect other people because Kit might let it slip that Mecy likes John so it might effect Kit and others.

  36. I think that the major problem being delt with is that Kit actually moved in for the rest of her life with the Woods, and the Woods have to get used to that. I think that the problems in the book are just dealing with Kit because she is the only one in Wethersfield that we know of that have made so many problems.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think the main problem that kit is dealing with is will and john and her being in wethersfeild also seeing hannah .it kind of effects other people ,but mosly kit i agree with dora (rachel)

  38. The biggest problem in the story is that people are discriminated because they are different. Hannah Tupper is discriminated because her religion is different. Kit is discriminated because she meets with Hannah Tupper and becaause she is not accustomed to the way of life in Whethersfeild. People were outraged when Kit tried to help Hannah Tupper.

  39. i think the main problem is that Kit is different.for example the Woods, they have to work more and apperently Kit litteraly "stole" william from Judith

  40. i think theres two main problems 1:is that she's friends with Hannah Tupper 2:is that she is from barbados and she is very diffrent from other people. Kit is making it harder to fit in but it is because she's from diffrent religion and place

  41. I think the problem in this story is Kit's way of life. It might be effecting some people but some people it isn't. It is effecting people because it is different than theirs.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think that Kit is still having a hard time adjusting to her new life. She is still having trouble fitting in, and that affects other people too. It affects other people because in the beginning of the book, she couldn't do chores like the others. Now she is doing things like visiting Hannah Tupper, which is making people (Matthew Wood) angry and shocked. I think if she continues to do things that the people of Wethersfield don't approve of, she will get major consequences.

  43. I think Jutith and Mercy are going to get in a fit over John Hoolbrook. It does get lots of people in volved.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think the biggest problem is that Kit isn't from Wethersfield, she's from Barbados. Before she came to Wethersfield, she was a lazy girl having servants do all of the work for her, and almost never went to meeting. Now she has to do all of the work (cooking, cleaning, and help in the fields) and goes to meeting twice every Sunday. Also, she's meeting Hannah Tupper, a lonely Quaker. (JAMES)

  45. I think that the biggest problem is Kit being different because it makes other people think different about her because she isn't like them,
and don't know that much about her, how she is, or what she used to do. But it could also be that she thinks different then the other people in Wheathersfield.

  46. I think the biggest problem is Kit is different than everyone in Wethersfield. This definetly has an effect on other people in Wethersfield. Kit doing all these things that to people in Wetherfeild is really bad but to Kit it is a normal day. The effect is heavily on Matthew Wood because it is his responsibility to take care of Kit.

  47. I think the major probem is that Mercy and Judith both like John Holbrook. I also agree with Kutnick people in Weathersfield don't like people that are different.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think that the main problem is that Kit keeps on going to hannah tupper's house the meadow it a big dill to Mathew Wood. The probleem is afecting Mathaw Wood and most of the Wood's family because Hannah does not go to meeting and is a quaker.

  49. i think one of the major problems that kit is dealing with is that she is "DIFERENT".

  50. i think that the mager problems is that kit dose not fit in.and that has effected the other people and the way they do things. also it is cuaseing problems and the way that they do things.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think the big proplem is that Kit is diffrent from everyone else. People are all used to doing the work and going to meeting around Weathersfield , but Kit is not used to all that stuff

    ReplyDelete
  52. This is probobly not the biggest problem but I think one problem is the fact Kit is always going to see Hannah without anyone knowing and I think soon some one will.

    ReplyDelete
  53. One big problem is that Kit is not fitting in and that she goes to see Hannah Tuper. All of the problems effect Kit and everyone around her.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think a major problem is that Kit is different from anybody else. Since she is different other people think differently about her. I also think Kit has a lot of other little problems having to be dealt with.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think that one problem in the story is that Kit visits Hannah Tupper.Matthew already said the Kit couldn't visit Hannah and she still does, if she got caught she would get in huge trouble.I think that might be what makes people think she's a witch. People woill look at Kit differenly like thay do Hannah.

  56. I don't really think the thing with Kit is that she id different, but it is that she just dosen't know what the right thing is. You could call different, btuit dosen't know what she is doing is wrong. Kit not knowing what to do effects ALOT of people, especially the Wood's.

  57. I think the main problem in this story is the fact that kit is different. It does affect others because she has unsial actions.
